Assignment #5

#1
In the last Section of the book, There has been a lot that has happened. Pablo takes the dyanmite and horses that Robert Jordan had planned on using for blowing up the bridge. After that, Robert Jordan talks to Maria about how he thinks the plan might not be as succefssful and thaet they will probally die. The next morning, Pablo appears with 5 other rebels ad explains why he left. He claims it was becasue he was weak and wasn't quite sure of what to do. The rebels decide to forgive him but deep down they are still suspicious. The rebels decide to contiune with blowing the bridge with hand grenades now. Robert Jordan then constructs a plan and tells Maira to watch the horses so she won't be injured. The men succeed in blowing up the bridge and Robert Jordan was suprised that he still loves Maria after the attack. The rebels decide to go back to town, but on the way back Robert Jordan's horse is shot and it breaks his leg forcing him to stay behind where he eventually dies.

2#  "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was an intersting book, but i wouldn't say that it was my kind of book. The main reason I kept reading was because I wanted to find out when they were going to blow the bridge. The main reason I was let down was beacuse the language they used for some of it was old spanish and I didn't really understand it at all.One of my favorite parts would probably be how they still managed to blow up the bridge even though they lacked certain materials. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance or suspensful thrillers.

Blog Assignment #2

pg.157
"Is she all right?... she looked ill before"
I thought this was an interesting chapter that almost high-lighted Pilar in a way.In this chapter you can see how Pilar feels about Maria and how she envy's Maria's looks and Youth. It almost troubles Pilar just being around Maria. I didn't really noticed the effect Maria's looks had on Pilar until this chapter. It's astonishing to see the affects that one character has on another.

pg.116
"In this town...and later burned "
I choose this quote because it was the first time Robert Jordan talked a little about his childhood. As he shares his past experiences with the people around him, They are shocked and in disbelief that such an event would take place. I think that Robert Jordan is starting to compare himself to those barbarians that hung the negro when he was little. He may not know it but he is becoming a brute just like the rest of the people fighting in the war.
